The Tin Flute (Bonheur d'occasion "secondhand happiness"), is a novel by Canadian author Gabrielle Roy, takes place in the Saint-Henri slums of Montreal during WW2. The typography attempts to evoke the emptiness felt with loss (words out of place), and a perceived contrast between age gaps (of ignorance & experience, naïveté & wisdom).
